You need a 15 A outlet

The 15 A plug has a larger earth pin than a standard plug, so it only fits a 15 A or 20 A outlet. That's deliberate: never use an adapter to plug it into a 10 A power point.

If you don't have one, a licensed electrician can install a dedicated outlet where you park. What that involves · rules in your state.

No outlet and no plans for one? The SEVR 10A plugs into any power point.

Questions

Frequently asked

Can I plug a 15A EV charger into a normal power point?

No. The 15 A plug won't fit a 10 A socket, and you should never use an adapter. You need a dedicated 15 A or 20 A outlet installed by a licensed electrician.

How fast is the EVSE Australia 15A?

About 3.45 kW at 15 A, roughly 19 km of range per hour or 194 km over 10 hours.

Why would I use the 8 A or 12 A setting?

To reduce load on an older circuit or to better match a small solar system. Lower settings are slower.

When will it be available?

We list it as coming soon until EVSE Australia supplies the RCM/EESS registration for this exact model. Email us to be told when it's in.
